A Conversation between Abby and Angelo

This morning when I was getting Abby ready for school we had a pretty interesting conversation.

These were her exact words as best I can remember them.

Me: “Abby, what are you going to eat for breakfast at school?”

Abby: ”No!!, I eat pancakes in Me Maw’s kitchen. ”

Me:”Do you want to go and see Me Maw this weekend? ”

Abby :”( nodding her head) uh-huh! I see MY Me Maw, Dadee.”

Me: ”Sor-rry, who else do you want to see?”

Abby: ”Ummmm, I want see my Dana . ”

Me: ”You want to see Dana . ”

Abby: ”(nodding her head) uh-huh! An I see my Daeeeeeeee ( Dave )……I luv my unkl Daeee!!!!”

That just sort of came out of nowhere, so I guess we may be headed that way his weekend.

Garner's 2-Month Check-up

I just got back from taking Garner to his 2 month well baby visit and, just as I suspected, he is perfect! No, just kidding, but he did really good. The doctor actually said he is holding his head up "better than average"(he's SO strong)! He did have to get 5 shots and it was horrible! Every time he started to calm down a little, she would give him another shot! Poor little guy! It is over with at least! Now for the statistics you have all been waiting for...drumroll:)...our little G-man is 23 inches long and weighs a whopping 13.4 lbs! Abby was 22.5 inches and 12lbs6oz at 2 months. He is definitely not missing any meals!

Pictures!

Angelo took these pictures while they were waiting on me to get all of our stuff ready to go somewhere. I am really dad he did because I love them!

My sister, Karen, got these sunglasses for Garner! I don't know how he felt about them at first, but he got used to them and look at that smile!

All of these were taken before we went to pick up Garner's new swing! I would be lying if I said this is what he always looks like when we put him in it, but it is much better than his old swing!

Father's Day (a little late!)

A lot has been going on in the past couple of days, so I have really been too busy to post anything about our Father's Day yet! It was a really good day. We had Bianca, Ralph, Christina, and Santiago over for breakfast and we went over to Bianca and Ralph's for dinner. The rest of the day we just hung out. Nothing too exciting, but it was just a nice day. A couple of these pictures are from our house that morning, but the ones of Abby and Angelo playing were taken at Bianca's. Abby sure does love her Daddy! She had a great time crawling all over him and she thought it was hilarious!

This week...

I am really trying to catch up and get to the point where I can post things about the day that I am writing them. So I can say, "Today we..." I have not been able to catch myself up to that point just yet. In an effort to get to that point, I am going to write about several things in one post!

Fun At Tio and Tia's House
Last Sunday we went over to Angelo's brother Santiago's house. He grilled hot dogs and got out the kiddie pool. It was hot, but it was a good time. Christina's family was over there also. Her brother and his wife, Kirbi, had there 4 year old daughter, Shelbi, (they are also expecting a new little girl within the next few weeks) with them and her and Abby had a really good time in the pool.
This picture is before we left our house. She loves to get in this dumb bouncy seat. For a long time I fought to get her not to sit in it, but I am too tired and I don't care enough to make a fuss over it any more. You have to pick your battles - especially with a 2 year old. She got in that seat and told me - I am not kidding and I am a little embarassed - to bring her a beer! I don't know where she gets this stuff!

Hanging At BiBi's

We also went over to see Bianca and Ralph before they went on their trip to Washington. All of us were in the living room talking and Abby quietly walked out and went into the "playroom". I picked in and she was sitting in this chair reading books.

He was able to snap that photo without being noticed. Then she saw him:

And here she is saying, "Get out of here, Daddy!"

Abby also helped her Bibi pick some squash as their house!

A Bit of Randomness

I tried to get Garner interested in his mobile, which lasted about 5 seconds!

I got sick of the crying/whining/dirty house and tried to leave, but Abby cheered me up by offering me a drink of her milk!

Then she chased me around the tree!

Life is an emotional roller coaster!

A Comfortable Position

Lately Garner has just been really fussy during a lot of our day together. I don't know if it is gas or what, but it is really frustrating. He is so cute and sweet and I love him to death of course, but it is hard. Anyway, Angelo comes home every day at lunch and today this is the only way he could get him to stop crying.

Thank you for coming home every day, Angelo. It is a much needed break in the middle of a long day! You are such a good dad and husband.

Abby's New School

I have been meaning to post these pictures for a couple of weeks, but for some reason I haven't gotten around to it. Abby started going to St. Francis at the beginning of June. This is the daycare that Angelo and his brother went to when they were little. She would have already been going here, but they only start at 2 years old. Anyway, we miss Miss Jane's, but this place is so much cheaper and they provide a hot breakfast and lunch and give them an afternoon snack. And Abby really seems to like it. She came home after her first day and was really excited and jumping around more than usual. The second morning that Angelo took her, he asked her on the way if she wanted to ride her bike when she got home and she said, "NO! I want to go to my new school!" Obviously she did not understand what he was asking, but this told us that she definitely seems to like it.
On her first day, Bianca came over and sat with Garner so that Angelo and I could take her to the new place together. Here are some pictures from that day.

She is getting so big! It makes my heart hurt because I don't want her to get any bigger, but she does every day!

Quick Story

As you all know, I am breastfeeding Garner. Anyway, Abby didn't really get it at first. The first time she saw me nurse him she said, "No, no Baby Garner. Don't eat Mama!" and tried to put him in time out. She has said several little things about it before, but for the most part she doesn't even seem to notice anymore. But yesterday I finished feeding Garner and gave him to Angelo and Abby brought her bear over to me and said, "He needs to get on the Boppy" and laid him up there and tried to lift my shirt up and said, "You need to feed him". To me, that is pretty funny, but this morning she did the sweetest thing. Her and I were on my bed and I was nursing Garner. She went and got her baby doll and came back, got on the bed beside me and said, "I need to feed my baby" and she lifted up her shirt and pretended to feed the baby doll. That may be weird to some people and maybe it is a little, but I thought it was so cute and sweet! She really makes me laugh.
Oh, and just for fun here is two picture of her and her rocking horse that she insisted wear these sunglasses.

Kiddieland

Well, last night Angelo officially started his summer classes. Luckily, he will only have to actually go to class 2 nights a week, but even so, I have been very nervous about it. I just haven't quite figured out how to put two kids so bed yet. (if anyone has any advice I would definitely welcome it!) Anyway, Bianca saved the day by coming over and helping. Well, Tuesday night I took Jordan to dinner and we went to play putt-putt and this place called Lion's Park and I told her that we could come back on Wednesday so that her and Abby could ride the train at Kiddieland(which is also at Lion's Park). Thank goodness Bianca was there! I don't think I could have handled it without her. It was a lot of fun, but it was very hot! So, first they rode the train.

Then they wanted to ride the merry-go-round:

Then they wanted to ride this ride. I don't know what you call it, but it goes around pretty fast and the little spaceships(or whatever they are) go up and down. Jordan was the one who really wanted to ride it and then once it started she was scared! You can see this by the look on her face in these pictures!

So, in case you hadn't noticed, I was having to ride these rides with Abby and, by this time I was feeling a little sick so it was time to go. Then, on our way out, Abby spotted the little stationary rides you can pay 50cents to ride. I did not actually pay for her to ride them, but she had to get on ALL of them - and there were quite a few. When she got on the first one I kept telling her, "Okay, we have to go home" to which she replied, "I drive this home. Bye, bye mama! See you tomorrow!"

And, lastly, this is what Garner did the whole time:

So, I will throw in a couple of extra pictures of him!
